The OES Grant Screening Committee has successfully concluded the four-day screening exercise for applicants listed under the 439 category. The screening was originally scheduled for three days, with an additional grace day provided to accommodate applicants who were unable to attend on their initially assigned dates, particularly those currently out of the state. In furtherance of our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility, a virtual screening option was also integrated on the fourth day.
A total of 154 applicants participated in the screening exercise. Each applicant was independently assessed by two judges, who scored them based on their understanding of their chosen business model, their intended application of the Recoverable Grant within the proposed business, and the sustainability plan for the venture. The individual scores of both judges were computed to determine each applicant’s total score.
Following the overall performance review, a cut-off score of 22 was established. Eighty-one (81) applicants scored above the cut-off and seventy-three (73) scored below.
The 81 applicants who met the cut-off have now been declared successful at this stage and will join the previously shortlisted 111 applicants to form the consolidated list of Shortlisted Applicants for Stage One. Applicants are advised to check their names on the attached list.
All shortlisted applicants will now proceed to the next phase alongside those from the 111 list (who attended the Ogoni Entrepreneurship Summit 2025), beginning with the mandatory training scheduled for Friday, 20 February 2026. Please refer to the official flier for full details.
Applicants are required to arrive at the training venue by 8:30 AM prompt, as late arrival may result in disqualification from the process. Attendance at the training is strictly compulsory, and there will be no provision for virtual participation.

While I understand that the committee in charge deserves the right to the bidden of the grant. Compulsory Physical training for all shortlisted candidates is too demanding for candidates who have moved out of state.
